About Us

Formerly known as the Church of Christ (Holiness) USA (“COCHUSA”) Congress Scholarship Board, the Kerry Joe Allen (“KJA”) Scholarship Board was established in August 1998 during the National Convention held in St. Louis, Missouri to raise scholarship funds for our youth.

The Scholarship Award was the brainchild of then Congress President, Kerry Joe Allen. At the conclusion of his two-term service as National Sunday School (“SS”) and Holiness Youth Ministries (“HYM”) President, the Board elected to change the name to the Kerry Joe Allen Scholarship Board. Kerry currently serves as Chairman of the Scholarship Board.

The Board is committed to invest in our youth; promote higher education, life long learners, and spiritual commitment; as well as to encourage participation in our SS and HYM.

The KJA Scholarship Board supports academic excellence and spiritual growth for the survival of our Sunday School and HYM in the 21st Century. Additionally, we support the Church of Christ (Holiness’) strategic Plan to both, increase its membership, and retain its youth.

PURPOSE

Our primary purpose is to raise scholarship funds for the young men and women within the COCHUSA denomination. With the rising cost of higher education, we endeavor to provide partial scholarship with the intent to eventually provide full scholarships for quality education of the Christian young men and women of COCHUSA Congress.
